Description

This is a former cottage, now used as a garage, likely dating from the 16th century, although it has been significantly altered over time. The building is timber-framed with a rubble plinth and stack, incorporating brick, wattle-and-daub infill, slate roofing, and more recent 20th-century tile. It originally comprised three framed bays, and a lean-to has been added to the rear, enclosing a former external stack from which the shaft is now missing. The building is single-storey with an attic, featuring two dormer windows. Some openings have been blocked, and there are three ledged doors alongside a pair of garage doors. The east gable end was rebuilt in the 20th century. Inside, two cruck trusses are visible, slightly altered to fit the building’s current form.
