Description
The granary and stables, located about 20 metres east of Luntley Court, date back to the 17th century, with early 19th-century extensions and alterations. The building features a timber frame with brick and rendered infill, and it has been extended in brick with an asbestos slate and graduated stone tile roof. It is arranged in an L-shape, with the 17th-century range extending to the southeast and a later 19th-century limb to the southwest.
The northwest front includes a gabled cross-wing on the left, which is two storeys high and has external stone steps leading up to a first-floor entrance. This entrance features a shaped lintel above a 17th-century boarded door with ornamental strap hinges. There are one plus two windows: a 4-light casement to the left, and two 2-light casements to the right, along with another first-floor door. The ground floor has three 2-light casements with segmental brick heads. To the right of the stone steps, there is a stable entrance that also has elaborate 17th-century strap hinges.
The framing consists of six square panels high. The decorative gable is adorned with bargeboards and a pendant finial. Inside, there are two collars with curved V-struts at the apex, and below the lower collar, there are quadrant braces with knops in square panels.
