Description

Number 3, known as Mill Cottage, along with the adjoining range of barns and stables to the west and south, is a Grade II listed building. This cottage, granary, and stables date from the 18th century, with some rebuilding and alterations from the early 19th century, including a stone dated 1805 on the granary. The structure is built from coursed limestone rubble with freestone dressings, topped with Collyweston stone slate and Welsh slate roofs. The chimneys feature brick shafts. The layout is L-shaped, with the cottage positioned to the east of the east-west range, while the granary and stables form the north-south range to the west.

On the north elevation, the two-storey cottage has parapet gables and end stacks, with two brick shafts on the left-hand stack and a single shaft on the right. It features a 20th-century door and two ground floor casement windows with wooden lintels, along with two first floor casement windows. There is a lean-to addition that connects the cottage to the granary. The west elevation showcases the two-storey granary and stables, which includes a pair of double boarded doors on the right-hand side with a segmental headed arch, two casement windows, and a doorway to the left, along with a blocked doorway and window further left. There are five first floor casement windows with wooden lintels.
