Description
This is a barn and hayloft located about 25 yards north of Court House Farmhouse. It is probably from the 18th century and has undergone some later alterations. The structure features a timber frame and weatherboards, with a sandstone rubble and timber-framed weatherboarded extension. It has a Welsh slate roof and a rectangular plan consisting of three plus one bays aligned north to south. The building has two levels, and the east elevation includes three loft openings and a full-height entry on the right. Beneath the center, there are three openings leading to a garage, while the left part has a rubble first floor. The frame is mostly composed of three square panels high from the cill to the wall-plate. Inside, there are unusual trusses, each featuring a pair of outwardly inclined struts from the tie to the collar and another pair from the collar to the principals. This barn is included for its group value.
