Description

The ice house, located immediately west of Mill Cottage, is likely from the 18th century or early 19th century. It is constructed of red brick and has a circular plan with a brick dome that tapers towards the base on the inside. There is a rectangular opening on the west side of the dome. The earth covering has been removed, revealing the dome. This structure is situated in the garden of Mill Cottage but likely originally served Heath House. The ice would have been sourced from a small lake to the south.
