Description

The ice house, located north-east of Dorfold Hall, dates from the late 18th century. It is constructed of red brick and is covered by an earth mound. Inside, a narrow brick vaulted passage slopes downwards, leading to a series of steps that descend directly into the chamber. The chamber, which is well below ground level, is circular in shape and features a domed roof.
