Description
Bridge House Hotel, formerly known as Marian Sykes Guest House, is an 18th-century building that has been converted from a house into a hotel. It features painted render over brick or sandstone and has a Welsh slate roof with an external end stack located at the north-west side. The building has a rectangular plan that is aligned north-west to south-east, with a subsidiary wing at the rear of the north end.
The hotel is two storeys tall with an attic. The south-west elevation includes five windows, which are glazing bar sashes set beneath fluted lintels that have cornices. The corners of the building are accented with quoins, and there is a cruciform panel situated between the central first-floor window and the eaves. The central entrance is positioned beneath a matching raised fluted lintel and features a transom light above it.
