Description
The Old Vicarage is a vicarage that has been converted into a hotel. It dates from the 18th century and was remodeled and enlarged in the early and mid-19th century. The building is constructed of brick and sandstone, partly rendered, and features hipped Welsh slate roofs and brick stacks. It has a roughly rectangular plan with the garden front facing south-south-east and consists of two storeys.
The south front has a symmetrical arrangement of windows, with one window on each end and one in the center, all of which are glazing bar sashes. The central bay is full-height and apsidal, containing three windows on the ground floor and a central window on the first floor, which is flanked by shutters. The eaves are deep and bracketed. The entrance is located on the west side, featuring a porch with a four-panelled door and fanlights. Inside, there is a three-flight early 19th-century dog-leg staircase with stick balusters.
