Description

Wilton Court is a house, now operating as a hotel, likely dating from the early 17th century, with alterations made in the early 19th century and later additions. The construction combines timber framing with sandstone rubble walls, sandstone dressings, and a Welsh slate roof. It features brick and stone stacks, notably one to the left of the gable front with diagonal shafts. The building is arranged in an L-shape, with wings extending to the west-northwest and north-northeast. It includes a cellar, two storeys, and attics.

The south-east elevation has a 1:3:1 window arrangement. Gable fronts are present on either side of the elevation, with the left gable featuring a four-light mullioned window to the first floor and attic, a four-light casement to the ground floor, and an oval panel in the gable. A moulded string course runs between the storeys. The central section of the elevation, dating from the early 19th century, includes a single-light casement to the left on the first floor, and two four-light, multi-paned casements to its right. Correspondingly large openings on the ground floor have segmental heads and contain 20th-century steel casements of three lights. The right-hand gable front from the early 19th century has a 20th-century mullioned window and a four-panelled door to the left. A three-light mullioned window is visible on the left-hand return elevation. A large stone stack is situated at the rear, and a chamfered four-centred doorway is located to the right.

The interior is reported to contain exposed timber framing and chamfered ceiling beams with run-out stops.
