Description
Wilton Hall is an 18th-century house, now operating as a nursing home. It is located on the north side of Wilton Lane in Bridstow. The house is constructed of brick with stone dressings, has a hipped Welsh slate roof, and brick end stacks. It stands on a rectangular plan, with a service wing extending from the north corner. A cellar lies beneath and three storeys above.
The south-east elevation features a 3:1 window arrangement, with glazing bar sashes beneath gauged brick heads. The right-hand side displays a two-storey section. Late 19th-century canted bay windows are positioned on the ground floor to the left and right of the main three-storey section. A six-panelled door with a fanlight is centrally placed and sheltered by a wrought iron porch with a glazed hipped roof. Stone string courses are present between the storeys, topped by a stone cornice. The return elevation on the left has a dentilled brick eaves cornice.
Attached to the north corner is an early 19th-century sandstone outbuilding, characterised by segmentally headed casement windows – one of three lights and two of two lights – and raking-top dormers with casements.
