Description
Mill Brook Cottage is a house dating from the 17th century, with extensions added in the mid-20th century. It is timber-framed with rendered infill, and the extension is in rendered brick, all under a tiled roof. The house has one-and-a-half framed bays aligned north-east/south-west, extended to the south. A substantial chimney stack in the south bay of the original timber frame is constructed of ashlar with a pilastered rectangular plan shaft and a moulded cornice. The south-east front has two gabled dormers to the left, a two-light and a three-light casement window to the right. The ground floor has two three-light casement windows. A 20th-century stable door serves as the entrance, located to the left of centre. The timber framing is four panels high, with straight angle braces. The north gable features two collars with multiple struts and V-struts in the apex.
