Description
This granary, located about 30 yards north-west of Lower Monkton House, likely dates from the late 18th century. It is constructed of sandstone rubble and features a Welsh slate roof. The building consists of two structural bays arranged in an east/west orientation and has two levels. The east gable includes a ledged loft door positioned slightly left of center at the top of a set of tallet steps, beneath which there is a dog kennel. Inside, the granary has a collar truss with curved braces that rise from the floor beam to the principal.
