Description
Lyston House is a house built in the early 19th century, with significant enlargements and alterations made in the early 20th century. It is constructed of sandstone and brick with a rendered finish, featuring hipped Welsh slate roofs and brick stacks. The building has a roughly square plan, with a cellar and two storeys.
The south elevation displays a 1:3:1 window arrangement, with an advanced pedimented three-bay section and wooden dentils along the eaves and pediment. The outer ground floor windows are tripartite sashes, while the first-floor sashes have round heads. An oculus is present in the pediment. Inside, there is an early 19th-century rear stair and stairwell light, but the interior was otherwise remodeled, partly in the late 19th century and extensively in the mid-20th century.
