2/64 Upper House Farmhouse

Farmhouse. Probably late C17 to early C18 with early C19 extension. Coursed sandstone rubble with sandstone dressings, Welsh slate roof, with verge to east and half-hipped projecting wing to north, side stack with brick shaft to south. L-plan with main range aligned east/west and former granary wing projecting to north at west end. Cellar, two storeys and attics. North elevation has three windows, cross-casements (probably original) under dressed voussoirs, central early C20 door under contemporary porch; projecting granary part to right has tallet stairs rising to a ledged door, possibly C18 above which is a gable door; attached to right hand side is an un-fenestrated single-storey early C19 extension. West elevation to projecting granary wing has a 2-light mullioned window to ground floor; C19 extension has two ventilation slits. Interior of house has simple collars above tie-beams; projecting wing has V-struts from ties to principals.
