Description

Walnut Tree Cottage is a house dating to the late 16th or 17th century, with later alterations. It is timber-framed with brick and render, standing on a sandstone rubble plinth. The roof is steeply pitched and covered in plain tiles, with a brick buttress stack on the left side. The building follows a two-bay plan and is single-storey with an attic. A C20 plank door is located centrally to the left, and there are two C20 two-light casements with leaded lights set in moulded frames. To the right is a C18 or C19 timber-frame and brick lean-to with a plain tile roof, under a gable containing a C19 two-light metal casement. A C20 wing extends to the left rear. The interior has not been inspected.
