Description
Broadward Lodge is a farmhouse, now used as a residential home, dating from the 17th to 19th centuries. It is constructed of painted brick with a Welsh slate roof and has an irregular plan. The front elevation has two storeys and a three-window range. It features 6/6 sash windows with ornate stucco hood mouldings above. A 20th-century part-glazed door and overlight are set within a 19th-century bay window on the left side, flanked by 6/6 sash windows. An advanced gable wing to the left has two tiers of similar 6/6 sash windows. The left return side features sashes over a gable porch, with a matching sash window and painted rubble to the rear. A right-hand wing is of painted brick with a timber frame and brick infill, and has a hipped Welsh slate roof. It contains a 20th-century door and casement, with various casements to the right return side. A gable wing extends to the rear. The interior has not been inspected. This building has group value, adding to the character of the area.
