Description
Brickhouse Farmhouse is an early 19th-century farmhouse constructed of brick on a sandstone rubble plinth, topped with a plain tile roof and featuring roughcast brick end stacks. The building stands two storeys high with an attic and has a three-window range. The central window is a late 19th-century two-over-two sash, flanked by wide three-over-three sashes, all set beneath cambered heads and painted brick segmental arches. The eaves are adorned with brick modillions, and there is a band leading to a central pediment that features a lunette casement under a semicircular painted brick arch.
The central entrance consists of a part-glazed six-panel door set in a chamfered case, which is sheltered by a simple 20th-century porch. This entrance is flanked by broad sash windows. On the right side of the building, there is a buttress stack. The rear of the farmhouse is constructed of rubble and also features brick modillion eaves. There is a rubble wing at the back with a hipped Welsh slate roof and a brick lateral stack, along with a 20th-century stack to the rear. The rear includes a 19th-century four-light casement above a 20th-century casement and a 19th-century fixed light. The interior has not been inspected.
