Description
No. 2 Barton Road is an 18th-century house that has undergone some alterations in the 19th century. It features a stucco exterior and a Welsh slate roof, with 18th-century brick end stacks topped with 19th-century caps. The house is three storeys high and has a three-window range. The central feature is a set of French windows with an overlight that leads to a balcony, which is adorned with a balustrade made of vase balusters. On either side of the balcony are two tiered round bays that have flat roofs and three-light casements with simple hoods. Above these are two-over-two and three-over-three casements. The eaves are bracketed. The central entrance consists of a part-glazed panelled door with coloured leaded lights, situated within a late 19th-century porch. This entrance is flanked by similar casements that include clerestories, and there is a storey band above. To the left, there is a single-storey wing featuring a three-light casement. At the rear, there is a 19th-century outshut that includes two-light casements.
