Description

This barn, located about 40 yards north of Upper Wolton Farmhouse, is probably from the early 18th century. It is timber-framed, covered with weatherboards, and has a tiled roof. The barn consists of three bays arranged in an east-west direction, with full-height entries on opposite sides leading to a central threshing floor. The walls feature square panels that are three high from the cill to the wall-plate. Inside, there are triple angle strut trusses. This barn forms a group with the nearby cider house and granary, which are also of interest. Upper Wolton Farmhouse is not included in this listing.
