Description
Lower Wolton Farmhouse is a farmhouse that likely dates from the 18th century. It features a sandstone rubble plinth, a timber frame with plaster and brick infill, tiled roofs, and brick stacks. The building has a rectangular plan and stands two storeys high, with four windows. The first floor has late 19th-century casements, while the ground floor includes a central 4-pane window to the left of which is an entry next to a lean-to extension. There is also a 6-pane steel window on the gable facing the road, along with an end stack and a central ridge stack. The timber frame consists of four panels high from the cill to the wall-plate, with a diagonal strut extending from the cill to the corner post on the right-hand side.
