Description

The Dairy Farmhouse and attached barn is a Grade II* listed building located on Meadow Street in Weobley. This structure dates back to the 15th century, with a floor added in the 17th century and the barn constructed in the same century, although there have been some alterations in the late 20th century. The building features a timber frame with painted brick and rendered infill set on a coursed rubble plinth, topped by a tile roof. It is designed in an L-shape, with the hall range positioned to the southeast and a cross-wing to the northeast, where the barn is attached at the northern end.

A laterally placed brick stack from the 20th century is located at the corner of the hall. The southwest front is one storey high with an attic that is illuminated by a gabled dormer on the right side. The ground floor includes two 2-light casements and an entrance on the right, which is sheltered by a gabled tiled canopy and features a 20th-century door. The jettied cross-wing rises to two storeys, showcasing a 2-light casement above a glazing bar sash. The framing of the cross-wing consists of two square panels high to the first floor, supported by curved angle braces. The gable truss is notable for having a single strut to the collar. The barn at the rear is three square panels high, and the gable end of the hall reveals an exposed cruck of substantial size. Inside, the central truss is arch-braced and cusped.
