Description
Home Farmhouse and the attached dairy are a 17th-century building with later alterations. The farmhouse is constructed of brick and rubble, featuring a slate roof at the front and a concrete double Roman tiled roof at the rear, along with brick gable stacks. The dairy, made of brick, has a double Roman tiled roof. The structure is arranged in an L-shape, with two storeys and five windows, all of which are cross windows with segmental heads. The first-floor windows have leaded lights and triple scrolled wrought iron catches, while there is a 20th-century replica window on the right side of the first floor. The central entrance features a panelled and glass door in a moulded frame, accompanied by a trellis porch and flat hood. The building has raised brick quoins and a cornice adorned with brick modillions.
To the right, the single-storey former dairy has a two-light window with iron stanchions and a small unglazed window with a plank shutter. The northeast elevation includes two two-light attic windows with cambered heads and flat mullions, with the left window blocked. The right side has three panes in each light. The rear wing has two storeys and two windows, with cross windows on the first floor. The ground floor features a 19th-century six-light mullion and transom window on the left and a 20th-century window on the right, all with cambered heads, a brick cornice, and modillions made of two bricks each. The southwest elevation has a closed attic window.
At the rear, there is a single-storey addition in the angle of the L-plan, which includes two 20th-century windows and a plank door with strap hinges in a moulded frame, along with another 20th-century door. The brick cornice at the rear does not have modillions. The rear of the dairy features a plank door with strap hinges in a plain frame, a window with iron stanchions, a plank and batten door, and a sidelight with iron stanchion and leaded lights, all supported by a timber lintel. There is also a loading door on the southwest elevation and a blocked door at ground level that now has a window opening. The interior is not accessible.
