Description
Shepperdine Farmhouse is an early 19th-century farmhouse, likely incorporating earlier fabric. It is constructed of rubble with stone dressings, rendered, and has a double Roman tiled roof with brick gable stacks and a ridge stack. The original plan included a through passage. The principal facade has two storeys and three windows, all being three-light casements set within plain architraves with cills. The second bay from the left has a gabled porch with bargeboards, side lights, and a bench. A former door was located to the right of the porch, now replaced by a panelled and glass door within a moulded frame. A dormer window with two lights is visible. The farmhouse has a plinth and quoin strips. A single-storey addition exists to the left, featuring a 20th-century window and a garage door, also with quoin strips and coping. A small lean-to is attached to the right. The rear elevation has three windows, all three-light casements with flat mullions. A two-light casement replaces what was formerly a rear passage door in the second bay from the right. Two dormers, each with two lights, are present. The interior features panelled shutters on the windows and a panelled cupboard in the front right room. A winder staircase is also present. An addition to the left originally had a pitched roof and served as a kitchen, with a cheese room situated above.
