Description

Scotlands Farmhouse is a farmhouse dating from the 17th century, with a north block added around 1800 and later alterations. The building is constructed of rubble with a rendered finish and stone dressings, topped with a slate roof. The front of the north block features double Roman tiles and brick gable stacks, forming an L-plan structure.

The north block is two storeys high with three windows, all of which are sashes set in plain reveals. The first floor on the right is blocked, and there is a central six-panelled door with a triangular hood supported by brackets, along with a blocked cellar door featuring a timber lintel. The south block is two and a half storeys tall with two windows; it has a 20th-century casement window on the ground floor, a two-light 19th-century casement, and a plank door. The first floor includes a three-light and a two-light casement, as well as two blocked attic windows.

On the south side, there are two blocked attic windows, while the east side has irregular window placements, including a two-light and a three-light 17th-century casement on the first floor with flat timber frames, leaded lights, and decorative catches. There is also a two-light casement in the attic and two blocked windows in the north gable end. The north side has four windows, all 16-pane sashes in plain reveals, and a six-panelled door in the second bay from the right, which has a triangular hood with more elaborate brackets and a fanlight.

Inside, the south block features chamfered and stopped beams, and a winder stair located behind a plank door. The north block contains a stair with turned newels and square balusters, window shutters, and six-panelled doors.
