Description

The Cwm is a house, likely dating from the 15th century, with alterations made in the mid-18th and mid-19th centuries. It is timber-framed with painted brick and rendered infill, with sections rebuilt in painted brick, and has a tile roof. The building has three framed bays aligned east to west, and a lateral stack on the south wall constructed of rubble with a brick shaft. The east front is gabled and was formerly jettied, standing two storeys high. A four-light window is on the first floor, featuring plank weathering. The ground floor has a two-light casement to the left and a single-light casement to the right, also with plank weathering. The main entrance is located on the south wall. The timber framing to the first floor is close-studded, with short angle braces. The gable truss also has a close studded construction and a collar. The 15th-century bargeboards are traceried. It is possibly the cross-wing of a larger house.
