Description

These stables, located about 20 yards north-east of The Orchards, are probably from the 18th century. They feature a sandstone rubble plinth, a timber-frame structure with brick infill, weatherboarded gables, and a tiled roof. The building is arranged in three bays and is oriented west-north-west to east-south-east, with two levels. On the south elevation, there are two openings on the upper floor to the left, and three ledged doors on the ground floor, with the right door being a stable door that has an opening immediately to its left. The east gable includes an owl hole in the weatherboarding. The frame consists of four panels high from the cill to the wall-plate.
