Description
The stables, located about 40 yards north of Lillands, date from the early 18th century. They feature a brick plinth and are timber-framed with brick infill and weatherboarding, topped with a tiled roof. The structure consists of five small structural bays arranged roughly in a north-east to south-west direction.
On the south-east elevation, there are two stable doors that are symmetrically placed, with a small window containing an 18th-century wrought iron leaded casement to the right. Above the brick plinth, there are two rows of square panelling, with the top row being weatherboarded. A central early 20th-century brick lean-to is also present. The left gable is weatherboarded and features a loft opening, with a stable door to the right.
Inside, the stables have heavily cranked principals that spring from the upper floor and are pegged to collars.
