Description
Little Marcle Court is a farmhouse that likely dates from the 17th century, with alterations made in the 18th century. It features a timber frame, brick finished in roughcast, and tiled roofs. The building has stacks located at the east center, an off-ridge stack to the south, an end stack to the northwest, and two side stacks to the north. The rectangular plan is aligned east to west and it stands two storeys high.
On the east elevation, there are two windows with 30-pane wrought iron casements from the 18th century on the first floor and the left side of the ground floor. The right ground floor window is a mid-20th century 12-pane wooden casement, and a small mid-20th century casement has been inserted between the two first floor casements. The entrance is slightly to the right of center and features an elliptical bracketed hood over an 18th-century door, which has two glazed top lights above two large planked panels. The M-roof is hipped at the front, presenting the end of a longitudinal valley gutter to the center.
The side elevations have dentilled brick eaves cornices, while the north elevation displays scattered fenestration of early 19th century wood and iron casements, mainly under segmental heads. Although the interior was not inspected, it is reported to retain features such as 17th-century panelling and carved wall-posts, as noted by the Royal Commission on Historical Monuments in 1932.
