Description
Laddin Farmhouse is a farmhouse that likely dates from the late 17th century to the early 18th century, with alterations made in the early to mid-19th century. It is constructed with a timber frame, featuring a brick extension and infill panels, and has a tiled roof with end stacks. The building has a rectangular plan that is aligned north-north-west to south-south-east and consists of two storeys and an attic.
On the west elevation, the ground floor includes two early 19th-century 9-pane casement windows positioned next to the entry, with a similar casement under a segmental head to the right. The first floor features a 9-pane segmentally-headed casement to the right and a 12-pane late 19th-century casement to the left. The entry is located to the right of centre and is sheltered by a glazed early 20th-century gabled porch. The exposed frame on the centre and left side displays small square panelling, with two panels extending up to the first floor level and four more panels reaching up to the wall-plate. The east elevation, which faces the approach, has a large catslide timber-framed extension that effectively doubles the width of the building.
