Description
These stables, located about 30 yards east of Lower Mawfield Farmhouse, are likely from the 18th century. They feature a sandstone rubble plinth and a timber frame with brick infill, weatherboards, and a corrugated iron roof. The building has an L-shaped plan, with a three-bay section to the north and a two-bay section to the east. The south elevation has corrugated iron cladding on the left gable front, and to the right, there are two stable doors set in brick nogging, with weatherboarding above them. Inside, the stables have queen-strut trusses. This building is included for its group value.
