Description
Little Cobhall Farmhouse is a farmhouse that may date back to the 15th century, with early 17th century and later alterations. It features a rendered timber-frame construction, a Welsh slate roof, and brick stacks. The building is L-shaped, with one arm projecting roughly westwards and the other northwards. The east/west wing has two storeys, while the north/south wing has one storey and an attic.
On the west elevation, there is one window, which is a 3-light early 19th century casement located at the gable front under a blocked segmental head. The ground floor has two additional similar windows, one to the left and one in the gable front. There is an entryway in a mid-20th century porch with a contemporary door, situated immediately to the left of the gable. A mid-19th century lean-to extension is present on the right side.
Inside, the north/south range reveals one pair of cruck blades without a collar, although peg-holes for arch braces are visible. In the principal room below, the moulded base of one blade springs from the east wall. This room also features a large stone fireplace and heavy chamfered beams that divide the ceiling into panels.
