Description

This is a disused corn mill located approximately 20 meters north-east of The Mill in Fownhope, dating from the late 18th century. The structure is built of coursed sandstone rubble with some brick dressings and features a brick shaft for the stack, topped with a tiled roof. It has a rectangular plan with an entry on the west gable end and a waterwheel on the east gable end. The mill stands three storeys high with an attic and mainly has 2-light casement windows that have segmental heads. Inside, the machinery remains largely intact, although it is in an advanced state of decay.
