Description
The Moon Inn is a 17th-century inn with additions and alterations from the 18th and 20th centuries. It features a timber-framed structure with painted brick infill at the rear, roughcast on the main front, a sandstone plinth, and a slate roof. The building has an irregular L-plan with an added wing at the rear. There are two entrances on the south front and another entrance on the west side, along with a lateral stack on the east and a gable end stack on the west. A further lateral stack on the north side is now blocked. The inn is two storeys high with a cellar. The south front shows the south side of the wing to the left and the west side of the second wing to the right, featuring two 2-light casement windows to the left flanking an entrance with a ledged door, and a central door to the right. There is also one 2-light window and a similar 3-light window on the south gable end, with a cellar entry below. The framing is revealed at the rear and west side, displaying three and four square panels from the sill to the wall-plate, with V-struts in the gable.
