Description
This building is a barn and stable, likely from the 17th century, with alterations made in the late 20th century. It is timber-framed and weatherboarded, sitting on a rubble base, and has a corrugated metal roof. The structure consists of four bays arranged in a north-west/south-east direction. The barn occupies the three southernmost bays and features a central wagon bay with opposing cart entries and corrugated metal doors. On the north-east side, there are two blocked raking-top dormers. The stable is located in the north-west bay and is slightly lower in height, with a ledged and battened door on the north-east side and a loft door at the north-west end. The interior was not accessible during the survey in July 1986. The barn is situated close to Little Pentre-Coed and is adjacent to another outbuilding, contributing to its group value.
