Barn And Cowhouses About 15 Metres South East Of Black Hall

This building is a barn and cowhouses dating from the 17th century, with some repairs made in the late 19th century. It features a timber-frame construction, weather-boarded on a coursed rubble plinth, topped with a corrugated iron roof. The structure consists of nine framed bays arranged in a north/south orientation, with the four southern bays forming the barn, which includes a threshing floor located just north of the center. The west front has large double doors leading to the barn's threshing floor on the right side. To the left, there are three boarded loft doors with strap hinges and six entrances with boarded doors also hung on strap hinges. The framing includes three square panels high, retaining some of the original woven infill.
