Description
Lugg Mill is an early 18th-century corn mill, with some repairs from the mid-19th century. It is constructed of painted brick and coursed rubble, topped with a corrugated iron roof. The east front features two storeys and a gable-lit attic, with brick coped verges. The gable ends are supported by lean-to rubble buttresses. A central loft door is located above the main entrance, which is accessed by three stone steps. The entrance has a plain wooden architrave, and the boarded door features applied mouldings. Flanking the entrance are two single-light casements set under wider segmental heads. The water wheel, which was likely undershot, has been removed from the left-hand gable. Inside, there are two overdriven stones on the first floor, although most of the gearing has been lost; however, the main wooden shafts are still present.
