Description

The Stone House is a house built in the early 19th century, with some repairs made in the mid-20th century. It features an ashlar front made of coursed rubble and has a slate roof. The house has integral gable-end stacks with brick shafts. The south front is two storeys high and includes a moulded cornice and an attic that is lit by a semi-circular headed six-pane sash window set in a broken pediment. There are three windows on the front, all of which are glazing bar sashes with painted stone sills. The ground floor windows are taller glazing bar sashes. The central entrance is framed by a pilastered stone doorcase, which has consoles supporting the broken pediment. This entrance is topped by a radially glazed fan-light and a 20th-century six-panel door.
