Description
Corners Inn is a public house that originally served as a house and barn, dating from the 17th century. It features an early 19th-century refronting and has undergone late 20th-century alterations. The building is timber-framed with painted brick infill, refronted in painted brick, and has a roof made of tiles and corrugated iron.
The south front of the house, which faces the road, is two storeys high and gabled, with two 16-pane sash windows under segmental heads. The ground floor has similar windows and includes a 19th-century porch with a slate roof, a three-pane overlight, and a panelled door. To the right, the barn has a threshing floor entrance that has been filled with brick, featuring a 5-light casement window, and a 3-light casement window to the right. The barn's framing consists of three square panels high. The exposed west front of the house also shows three square panels high, with straight angle braces to the tie-beam, although the truss was removed in the 19th century. The building is included for its group value.
