Description
This building is a barn and cowhouse dating from the first half of the 17th century, with some alterations made in the 20th century. It features a timber-frame structure built on a rubble plinth, with a corrugated iron roof covering the barn and stone slates on the cowhouse, which is partially weather-boarded. The building consists of four framed bays, with two bays forming the barn to the southeast and a lower, narrower cowhouse. The barn includes a wide cart opening in the left bay, while the wall to the right has been partially rebuilt using 20th-century concrete blocks. The cowhouse has a conventional entrance on the left side. The framing consists of two square panels high up to the wall-plate, and the trusses are a mix of two raking struts and queen struts supporting a collar type.
