Description
Gilberts Cottage is a 17th-century farmhouse that was restored in the mid-20th century. It features a timber-framed structure with roughcast infill sitting on a rubble plinth, topped with a tiled roof. The building consists of three framed bays arranged east to west, and has an external lateral stack on the south wall made of rubble with a square-plan brick chimney. It is a single storey with an attic, which is illuminated by two gabled and framed dormer windows; the left dormer has a single-light casement, while the right has a four-light casement. On the ground floor, there are four windows: the outer ones are three-light, and the inner two are two-light. The framing includes three square panels in height, and the gable-end trusses feature two struts to the collar.
