4/89 Barn and cow house about 25 yards north of - Green Farmhouse

Barn and cow house. Probably early C18. Coursed rubble, timber-frame, weatherboards, corrugated iron roof and stone slate roof, brick repairs. Seven bays oriented north-east/south west: 3-bay timber-framed threshing barn extended to north-east and south-west by 2 bays, the latter for a cow house with tallet. The north-east extension is timber-framed with rubble gable end; south-west is slightly higher and in rubble with stone slate roof. South elevation: cow house is rubble, barn part weatherboarding (to left of entrance); right part is corrugated iron over C20 brick repairs to plinth; 3 ledged C18 doors to cow house, corrugated iron doors to central second bay of barn part. Rear elevation of barn retains ancient-looking heavy weatherboarding C18 (?). Interior: (cursory inspection only) raking struts from tie-beams.
