Description
Bridge Farmhouse is a farmhouse that likely dates from the 17th century. It is constructed of coursed rubble and features a tiled roof that is hipped to the ridge. The building has an end stack on the left side and a front stack on the right gable, with detached diamond stacks positioned roughly centrally. The farmhouse is designed in an L-shape with a forward projection towards the south.
It stands two storeys tall and has three windows, which are early 19th-century three-light casements. There are two windows on the left side of the main range and one to the right of the stack of the cross-wing. The upper windows are located directly above the ground floor windows and are of the same style. The entrance is situated to the left of the cross-wing, accessed by a flight of four steps that lead up to a tiled pitched-roof porch with a weatherboarded gable. The entrance features a 19th-century ledged door hung on strap hinges. To the left of the entrance, there is a lean-to that covers steps leading down to a cellar located beneath the entrance room. The cross-wing has been extended to the rear, which includes one window from the late 18th to early 19th century. The interior, which was not inspected, is noted to have a plank and muntin screen to the left of the entrance, as recorded by the Royal Commission on the Historical Monuments of England.
