Description

Green Farmhouse and its extensions is a farmhouse that likely dates from the 17th century. It is constructed of coursed rubble with a stone slate and corrugated iron roof, featuring central and end stacks. The building has an L-shaped plan, consisting of a northeast/southwest range and a cross-wing to the southwest, with a through-passage leading to the main range. Both ranges are two storeys high and have three windows, with the main range having an extension from the 18th century to the northeast.

On the south elevation of the main range, there is a 20th-century brick stack at the center, and 19th-century casement windows: a three-light window to the left and a two-light window to the right of the entrance. The first floor features evenly spaced two-light, four-pane casements. The entrance is located just to the right of center, beneath a window and the central stack. The rear elevation includes a segmental door head, likely from the early 17th century, with a contemporary ledged door that leads to the through-passage. To the right of this door is a hooded and blocked window.

The cross-wing has a large stack on the south gable end, with a newel stair to the left. At the rear, there is a segmental door head facing northeast, probably from the 18th century, which leads to a small timber-framed lean-to extension that is reputed to have once been a smithy. To the right of the main range, at the northeast end stack, is a stable extension, likely from the 18th century, which features three ledged doors on its north side, a kennel under the tallet stairs, and an early 19th-century lean-to on the south side. The interior has not been inspected.
