Description
This building is a barn and cow house, likely dating from the 17th century, with extensions made in the late 18th or early 19th century. It is constructed from dry stone rubble and timber-frame with weatherboards, topped with an asbestos roof. The structure features three partly timber-framed bays, with the front wall of the left bay rebuilt in rubble. There are gables and a front catslide extension to the left of the entrance, while the cow house is located under the right bay. The middle bay of the timber-framed section has opposed entrance doors, and there is a ledged door leading to the cow house in the right bay. Inside, the rear of the left bay is weatherboarded timber-frame, as are the areas to the right of the rear doors and the left end of the bay to the left of the threshing floor, which was previously an external wall. The frame consists of two panels high from the high cill to the wall-plate, and the trusses are of the raking strut and queen strut type, with the latter extending towards the gables.
