Description
This barn, located about 30 yards north-west of Lower Wootton Farmhouse, is likely from the late 17th century to the 18th century. It features a sandstone rubble plinth and a timber frame with weatherboarding, topped by a corrugated iron roof. The barn is in an L-shape, with a five-bay section extending to the east-north-east and a three-bay section to the south-south-east. It has two levels, and the north elevation includes a wagon entry to the left of the center. There are two loft openings above mid-20th century garage doors on the right side. The frame consists of three square panels high from the cill to the wall-plate, and the interior showcases raking strut trusses. This building is included for its group value.
