Description

This is a barn located about 20 yards north of Bage Mill Farmhouse, possibly dating back to the 15th century with later extensions. It is constructed with a timber frame, featuring weatherboards, corrugated iron, and a stone slate roof. The barn has four bays that are aligned roughly north to south. The east elevation includes a weatherboarded lean-to with three entrances: one on the left and two, positioned closely together, to the right of the center. The west elevation features a full-height wagon entry leading to the threshing floor in the second bay from the left. Inside, the bays are defined by crucks with collars and cruck spurs, and the second truss from the south end includes a tie-beam. The wall-frames are made of heavy scantling with square panels situated between the cill and wall-plate. Please note that Bage Mill Farmhouse is not included in this listing.
