Description
This barn, located about 15 yards south-east of Mawfield Farmhouse, is likely from the 18th century. It features a sandstone rubble plinth and a timber-frame construction with woven oak laths, weatherboards, and corrugated iron roofs. The barn is designed in an L-shape with two arms, each consisting of four bays, one extending westwards and the other northwards. The north elevation has weatherboards and an entry to the threshing floor in the third bay from the right. The frame consists of three panels high from the cill to the wall-plate. Inside, there are triple angle struts and some panels with oak laths behind the weatherboards. This barn is included for its group value.
