Description

This barn, located about 50 yards north-west of The Grange, is likely from the 17th to 18th century and has undergone some later alterations. It features a sandstone rubble cill and a timber frame with woven infill and weatherboards, topped with a corrugated iron roof. The barn consists of six bays aligned north-north-west to south-south-east. The east elevation is predominantly weatherboarded, except for the upper rows of exposed panels that show the woven infill. There are two full-height entries, each located one bay in from the ends. Inside, the structure includes king posts and angle struts from the ties, and the frame consists of four square panels high from the cill to the wall-plate. This barn is included for its group value.
