Description

This is a barn, likely dating to the 17th century, with additions from the 18th century. It stands approximately 20 metres to the southeast of Pwll Yr Hunt. The barn is built with a sandstone rubble plinth, timber framing with weatherboard cladding and some woven infill panels, and a corrugated metal roof. The layout is of four bays aligned north/south. A later bay was added to the south end, and a byre extends into the basement at the north end, south of a central threshing floor. The west front features a four-light diamond mullioned window to the left of the threshing floor entrance, a doorway, a square-headed opening leading to a loft in the later added bay, and three square-headed openings to the north gable end. Two square-panelled framing runs from the sill to the wall-plate. The barn has inclined strut trusses. The date "1639" is scratched into an upright beam to the left of the entrance.
