Description

The Vevers memorial is a chest tomb located approximately 1 metre south-east of the east end of the Church of St John the Baptist. It dates from the late 18th century and is made of sandstone ashlar. The tomb has a rectangular plan, featuring a moulded plinth and capping, with quarter balusters on either side of plain inscription panels. It commemorates Margaret Vevers, who died in 1790, the first wife of John Vevers; his second wife, Catherine, who died in 1795; Elizabeth, his third wife, who died in 1828; and John Vevers, who died in 1832.
